on staff work
What is staff work?
An overlooked competence
A rarely-discussed competence that works quietly in the background to drive organisational and personal success
ENABLES independent, effective staffers
A set of mindsets, actions, and skillsets that enable staffers to work independently and effectively, delivering results with minimal supervision
Basis of Flat structures
A precondition that allows organisations to reduce inefficient layers of middle management and create flatter structures
UNLOCKS POTENTIAL OF ALL STAFF
A model of organisational growth that relies not only on the strength of leaders, but also harnesses the collective potential of all staff
REALISES TRUE 360° EFFECTIVENESS
A neglected competence in developing all-round staffers: leadership focuses on working downward with subordinates, while teamwork focuses on working sideward with peers; staff work, on the other hand, focuses on working upward with bosses—a vital but under-appreciated skill
OUR LEAD TRAINER
Hello, my name is Stanley. I’ve been running staff work courses for the last 15 years. My courses are designed using my own experience staffing papers, submissions, speeches, presentations, overseas trips, meetings, and minutes when I was a public servant. I was also a personal staffer to the chief of the air force, a mentor who showed me how an organisation can succeed by harnessing the collective potential of all its staff. I hope to pass on these insights and experiences to help future generations of staffers.
